What are REGOs?
Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) are certificates issued to renewable energy generators for electricity they produce. These certificates can be sold each year to energy suppliers who use REGOs to validate that a certain portion of their supply has been generated from renewable sources.
What role does Levelise play?
Levelise can act as your agent to make it as simple as possible to register for, receive, and trade REGOs.
When will I receive revenue for REGOs?
Firstly, we may need to accredit your generating equipment or submit an annual declaration to validate your generation for the year ahead.
REGOs are allocated by Ofgem after the end of the financial year once we submit your generation data to them. Once this part of the process is complete, Levelise will attempt to sell your certificate to an energy supplier.
Any revenue earned from trading certificates will be classed as a Smart Hub Benefit (please see the Grid Services Agreement in our app for more detail).
We are hopeful the first payments will be payable in the Summer of 2025, but this will depend on the eligibility of your system.
How can I remove consent for you acting as my agent?
Please send an email to support@levelise.com and we will action your request as soon as possible.
Where can I find more information?
Please visit Ofgem's website.
