The Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) was introduced in winter 2022/23 by ESO to access additional flexibility typically over winter peak days when national electricity demand is at its highest.
This innovative service allows consumers, as well as industrial and commercial users, to be incentivised for voluntarily flexing the time when they use their electricity as part of a range of tools designed to help manage the electricity system over winter.
As part of the ESO Demand Flexibility Service, we can generate additional revenue from your system by using your storage capacity. The benefit of participating via Levelise is that you won't need to change your usage behaviour (or take any action at all) to achieve the earnings.
Much like all our other services we will only participate your system in this service if it is an overall benefit to you. Some things you must know:
- By signing our Grid Services Agreement you are opted in to our Demand Flexibility Service and we will assume you are happy to take part in any DFS events going forward, unless or until you deregister.
- You can only sign up to one Registered DFS Participant at a time - so if you participate with us, you will not be able to participate with anyone else. You can deregister by emailing us on: support@levelise.com.
- If you register with another DFS participant, this will deregister us as your DFS participant.
