Introduction
For Levelise to optimise your battery and for you to view your data through our app, your Social Energy/Levelise Hub must be connected to the internet at all times.
There are several different ways that your system can connect to the internet, please see the information here to identify your connection type.
Whichever type of connection you have, there will be an ethernet cable that carries the internet signal to the Social Energy Hub. You can test the internet is reaching the Hub via the process below.
Requirements
Laptop or MacBook with an ethernet port.
If your laptop/MacBook does not have an ethernet port, you can purchase an adaptor:
- USB type-A amazon.co.uk/Ethernet-USB/dp/B09MFY8799/
- USB type-C https://amzn.eu/d/dY9qB01
Other brands/models may also be suitable and available from various retailers.
Process
- Disable the Wi-Fi on your laptop.
- Remove the ethernet cable from the bottom of the Social Energy Hub (from the LAN 1 or LAN 2 port).
- Connect this to your laptop (via the adaptor if you needed to use one).
- Open a browser and run Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test. Other speed test websites are available.
- Take a screenshot of the result (select the PrtScn button if you have one and paste the screenshot into an email) that also shows your toolbar so we can confirm Wi-Fi is disabled.
- Reconnect the ethernet cable to the Social Energy Hub LAN port.
- Enable Wi-Fi on your laptop.
- Email the result to support@levelise.com.
