Introduction
A Wi-Fi extender receives the internet signal from your internet router via Wi-Fi and passes this to the Levelise Hub.
The Wi-Fi extender will be connected to your Levelise Hub via an ethernet cable.
There are different types of Wi-Fi extenders available, here are some common ones.
Guidelines
- A Wi-Fi extender will only function properly if there is adequate signal received from your router at its location.
- The ethernet cable connecting your Wi-Fi extender to your Levelise Hub must be free from damage and be CAT5 or above with eight pins in the connectors.
- The pairing process below is a general guide. Documentation for the model you have should be available online from the manufacturer's website.
Pairing process
- Please open the door of the Levelise Hub using the black handle.
- Switch off the Levelise Hub by moving the pair of switches on the left hand side to to the off (down) position.
- Locate the WPS button on your internet router and press this for one second. The WPS button may look like one of these:
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi extender for 1 second.
- The WPS light on the Wi-Fi extender should now be illuminated and not blinking.
- Check the ethernet cable joining the Wi-Fi extender to the Levelise Hub LAN port is secure and free from damage.
- Turn the Levelise Hub back on by flicking the pair of switches on the left hand side back up.
- Log into your Levelise App after about 5 minutes. On the dashboard there should be units consumed in the section called Consumption which updates every few seconds. This will confirm the system has been reconnected. It may take 24 hours for the Battery Status indicator to change from red to green or blue.
Optional process if pairing in situ did not work
- Disconnect the ethernet cable from the Wi-Fi extender.
- Unplug the Wi-Fi extender from the wall socket.
- Plug the Wi-Fi extender into a wall socket in the same room as your internet router. Switch on the socket.
- Follow steps 2 to 5 from the Pairing Process above.
- Relocate the Wi-Fi extender to be near the Levelise Hub and reconnect the ethernet cable. Switch on the socket.
- Follow step 7 above onwards to restart the Levelise Hub.
