Introduction
When you have a single ethernet cable that connects your Levelise Hub to your internet router, this is known as a hardwired or direct connection. This connection may go via a network switch to allow additional devices to use the same connection. A typical network switch is shown below.
Guidelines
If you are having issues with your connection please take note of these pointers and then follow the reconnection process below.
- Ethernet cables should be CAT5 or above and have 8 visible pins in the connector.
- Ethernet cables should be free from damage and, if used outside, have suitable protection.
- Make sure the ethernet cable connector is pushed firmly into the "LAN Internet" port of the Levelise Hub.
- Make sure the ethernet cable connector is pushed firmly into one of the ports of your internet router. It should not be in the port labelled WAN (if you have one).
- If you are using a network switch to share the connection with multiple devices, check the switch is not faulty and is powered on.
- If your Levelise Hub is not directly connected to your internet router, it will use a wireless device to connect to the internet. Please see this guide for a common method, or get in touch and we can advise further.
Reconnection process
- Please open the door of the Levelise Hub using the black handle.
- Switch off the Levelise Hub by moving the pair of switches on the left-hand side to the off (down) position.
- Switch off your internet router (please be aware of any impact on other connected devices).
- Check the ethernet cable is securely connected to both the router and the "LAN Internet" port of the Levelise Hub and is free from damage.
- Switch your internet router back on and wait until an internet connection is available.
- Turn the Levelise Hub back on by flicking the pair of switches on the left-hand side back up.
- Log into your Levelise App after about 5 minutes. On the dashboard there should be units consumed in the section called Consumption which updates every few seconds. This will confirm the system has been reconnected. It may take 24 hours for the Battery Status indicator to change from red to green or blue.
